Digital Services Manager

Digital Services Manager

The Digital Services Manager will be part of Diva’s senior management team. They will be an experienced manager with proven project management experience in respect of digital services, covering website development, app development, social media channels, game development and digital marketing.

They will have an excellent understanding of the dynamic digital communications environment, with explicit experience of the development of content strategy, the role of SEO and the importance of the user journey in respect of website design and development. They will also have line management experience and be looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a busy full-service marketing agency.

Core attributes and experience

The successful candidate will recognise the opportunities that exist for Diva to develop its digital offer both by supporting the integration of digital marketing and social media marketing across the company offer and developing the discrete digital service delivered by the in-house team of developers and digital designers.

The Digital Services Manager will have vision and the ability to look strategically at how the Digital Services Team can develop and grow, contributing directly to the success of the business as a whole. They will be responsible for securing new business in digital services, including seeking out new opportunities in the public and corporate sectors, supporting tenders, undertaking scoping and budgets for potential work, and seeking out new markets.

As the Digital Services Manager, they will have proven experience of client relationship management and will have responsibility for a number of high-profile client accounts in addition to supporting the workflow, quality control and pastoral needs of the Digital Services Team. As a senior manager, they will be responsible for budget management in respect of digital projects, resource management and workflow management. This will include forward planning, recruitment, outsourcing to external suppliers, and working closely with other members of the management team.

They will also be responsible for overall budget management and income tracking for the Digital Services Team, including meeting income and profit targets (supported by and working with the Business Development Team), and measuring productivity and profitability for the Digital Services Team as a whole.

The Digital Services Manager is line managed by the Director(s).

Responsibilities

Business development/growth

  • Actively engaged and responsible for development of Diva’s digital services offer, including the development of digital content
  • Seeking out new opportunities, tender writing, and pitching
  • Project scoping – requirements gathering and producing design and technical specifications
  • Costing digital projects (websites, apps, games, email campaigns, support contracts, etc.)

Corporate/cross-company

  • Playing a key role in the integration of digital and social media marketing across relevant company services
  • Creating a clearer understanding of the role of content development and SEO
  • Contributing to the company’s revenue, profitability and productivity targets specifically within the digital services team
  • Contributing to the company’s growth targets and increasing company profile
  • Participating in the marketing and promotion of all services, with a focus on digital services and content development

Team management

  • Line management, recruitment, production and resource management
  • Senior account management and digital project management
  • Sourcing and managing contractors
  • Quality control and testing
  • Budgeting and analysis of project efficiency

Skills and competencies

  • Proven ability to think strategically in terms of developing the company’s digital service within the context of the overall business growth strategy, with the ability to take responsibility for the future expansion of this area of the business
  • Excellent knowledge of the delivery of a range of digital services, including website development, app development, game development, social media marketing and digital marketing

Experience

  • Digital service development, including website development, user journey interface development, strong knowledge of SEO and content development

  • Service development, specifically within digital sector
  • Strategic business development, specifically within digital sector
  • Costing, budget management and tender writing/input

Qualifications

Educated to degree level in a relevant subject. Salary is negotiable dependent upon experience.
