Targeted interventions to reduce the rate of unintended teenage pregnancies and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) have been a significant focus for diva since 1997. The need to engage young people to promote safer sexual practices (eg. through increasing condom use) has formed the basis for much our work with the Department of Health, a number of teenage pregnancy partnerships, Chlamydia screening programmes, sexual health commissioners within regional PCTs and consortia organisations. Issues such as increasing Chlamydia screening, raising awareness of Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC), increasing condom use (including young men only) and increasing self-esteem have been successfully addressed by diva through a wealth of targeted, insight driven interventions delivered over the past 13 years across the UK.
