SOCIAL MARKETING INSIGHT INTO SUN BED USE

The use of sun beds, particularly by young people under 18, is currently an issue that is receiving increasing attention amongst public health professionals across the UK. The first such project of its kind, diva has been commissioned by NHS Islington to establish prevalence of adolescent sun bed use in the borough, gather qualitative insight from young people and develop a targeted intervention to address the issue. Working with colleagues at Sheffield Hallam University to establish the sampling methodology for the quantitative research, the project is the first in the UK to look at the issue of sun bed use within a locality.
