Insight into alcohol consumption habits amongst new University Students starting their studies in Sheffield this year was gathered through a series of roadshow events. Commissioned by the city’s Drug and Alcohol Action Team, diva created the ‘Drinking Buddy’ campaign to encourage safer alcohol-use and communicate messages around peer safety.
The roadshows were delivered during Freshers' Week, where students were encouraged to complete a survey, receiving a pen with information on units and tips on safer drinking as an incentive. diva's field team exceeded all expectations when it came to engaging with the students, with 2,250 completed surveys over four events. The data gathered will provide a strong basis to inform the future social marketing campaign to raise awareness of safer drinking amongst the student population.
