DIVA ALWAYS ‘A-REDDY’ TO DO THEIR BIT FOR CHARITY
Life at diva is rarely black and white… and World AIDS Day was no different, as staff took part in the national ‘Wear Red to Work’ campaign organised by the Terrence Higgins Trust Yorkshire.
Staff from the full service marketing agency wore an item of red and make a donation to the campaign and join together to form a human red ribbon - the recognised symbol for World AIDS Day, to help raise awareness of issues surrounding HIV and AIDS.
All money raised on the day will go directly to the Terence Higgins Trust Yorkshire, to help provide valuable funds to support work with people who are HIV positive and their friends and families across the region.
Last year, more than 6,000 people were diagnosed with HIV in the UK, and statistics for 2006 look likely to have risen even further. In the Yorkshire and Humberside region alone, there are currently nearly 1,400 living with the HIV virus, according to the charity.
Shirley Harris, a Director of diva said: “We are delighted to be able to contribute towards such a valuable cause to help raise awareness of the World AIDS Day campaign, and to help raise awareness to help stop the 5,500 lives lost daily and unnecessarily in Africa.”
