Client: NHS Rotherham
Brief: To encourage people in Rotherham to cook and eat healthy, affordable meals.
What we did: Delivered the ‘Maltby Masterchef’ campaign, a series of community engagement ‘cook and eat’ competition events at schools, children’s centres and Maltby fire station. Delivered a two day ‘Make a Meal of the Markets’ event at Rotherham Market using fresh market produce to demonstrate how to cook healthy meals. Both activities were supported by the production of recipe cards which were distributed to residents via local shops and businesses. The events achieved extensive local PR.
Value: A wide age-range of residents were engaged, from children to grandparents. Full evaluation is currently taking place but initial anecdotal reports show an increased number of residents who are now cooking at home and view healthy meals as accessible and fun.
