Diva is in the running for another best agency award – after being shortlisted for no fewer than three different gongs.

We are the only South Yorkshire-based company nominated in the Best Small Agency (up to 30 employees) category of the Northern Marketing Awards.

Our work with Darlington Borough Council on the Awesome Ways to Travel campaign, aimed at promoting sustainable travel to young people in Teesside, has been shortlisted for Best Use of Research or Insight in the same awards, while the Life on 2 Wheels project is in the running for Best Integrated Campaign in the UK Social Media Communications Awards.

Awesome Ways to Travel saw Diva co-create humorous videos with the target audience, developing ideas that would present public transport, cycling and walking as attractive options to those aged 16 to 25.

The resulting series of short animations contrast sustainable travel with absurd ‘alternatives’, such as teleportation and rocket boots, to encourage viewers to share the content with peers.

Combined, three of the videos achieved a view count of over 227,000 and were engaged with more than 10,000 times, while one week of static advertising delivered 479,568 impressions and 1,382 website clicks.

Other nominees in the Best Use of Research or Insight category include Everton FC and Argos.

Developed with Transport for Greater Manchester, Life On 2 Wheels featured a new website and a video that was viewed more than 22,000 times. The campaign led to a 43% increase in average signups to TfGM’s cycling newsletter, with more people attending cycle training courses after the video launch than in any other 2015 month.

Diva has won three gongs in 2016 to date, including Small Integrated Agency at the Prolific North Awards.

We were also named as a runner-up with Cycling UK in the Communicating Sustainability category of the Guardian’s Sustainable Business Awards earlier this year.

The Northern Marketing Awards will be presented at an event in Manchester on 19 October, with the UK Social Media Communications Awards following at London’s Emirates Stadium on 3 November.
