Teenage pregnancy has hit the headlines again with reports that according to a government study, as many as one in seven girls had been pregnant by the age of 18, although overall the number was the lowest it had been for 20 years.

diva has been working successfully with Leicestershire Teenage Pregnancy Partnership for five years to help reduce unintended teenage pregnancy in the area.

Behaviour change specialist at diva Amy Richards said, “Cutting teenage pregnancy rates is a real challenge, so we were delighted when recent research by Coventry University suggested that young people in Leicestershire may be more likely to delay sexual activity than young people nationally. This suggests approaches to reducing risky sexual behaviour by young people in the region can be seen to be working.”
