Exhibiting at the second national Tackling Obesity conference in March, diva highlighted an innovative approach to engage communities and gather insight data.
diva’s bicycle-powered smoothie maker provided a focal point for delegates at the conference, who were eager to learn more about how the tool can be used to deliver and reinforce campaign messages around healthy eating, physical activity and challenging obesogenic environments.
The conference was an opportunity to review progress towards addressing high incidence of obesity in England, since the launch of the Government’s ‘Healthy Weight, Healthy Lives’ strategy in 2008, scrutinising some of the challenges affecting the success of public health interventions. Under the strategy, the Government has set out an ambitious two stranded action plan, targeting and involving healthcare practitioners, authorities, schools and public services through one strand and families and individuals on the other.
